I’ve been writing ever since I learned cursive in second grade. My first book was a class project called The Haunted House. I've always been fascinated by places and their connection to the spiritual world. The Haunting of Chateau de Mornay is my first published novel and it’s a deeply passionate piece. My goal was to pen a modern day gothic story that I would be glued to. I wanted the gothic aesthetic intertwined with personal tragedy and growth. I also wanted characters and events that were pieces of my life. It’s fast paced with rich characters and a powerful story. I wrote what I'm passionate about. There are so many allegorical parallels to people and events throughout my life that give the novel a personal richness. 

 

Writing this novel over seven years was a labor of love. I went through personal hardships and had to shelve it several times. Finally I came out the other side strong enough to see it through and couldn’t be more proud of what I created. I believe the best art grows underground in our winters of despair and springs to life when we are strong enough to finally tell our stories. The best art comes from struggle, not success.
